Tribune Publishing Names Timothy Kennedy
Vice President/Strategy and Development
Succeeds Timothy
P. Knight who is named to Chicago Tribune post
CHICAGO, January 22, 2001 -- Timothy
R. Kennedy, vice president/development for Tribune Company,
has been named Tribune Publishing Company vice president/strategy
and development. Kennedy succeeds Timothy P. Knight, who today
was named Chicago Tribune vice president/strategic marketing,
development and finance.
"Tim has worked closely with the publishing
group for the past two years," said Jack W. Fuller, president
of Tribune Publishing. "He played a key role in the Times
Mirror transaction. Tim's keen understanding of publishing
and interactive businesses and his familiarity with the needs
and interests of the publishing group will be invaluable in
this new assignment."
In his current role, Kennedy is responsible
for strategic development activities and opportunities that
build Tribune’s publishing and interactive businesses.
Kennedy, 35, joined Tribune in 1994 as manager
of tax and was named manager of corporate finance in 1996.
He served as director/corporate finance and was named director/corporate
development in 1998. Kennedy was appointed Tribune Company
vice president/development in 2000. Prior to Tribune, Kennedy
worked eight years at Price Waterhouse, now PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting
from Western Michigan University and a master's degree in
management from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate
School of Management.
