
Tribune Broadcasting Names Myrna Ramirez

Myrna Ramirez, Director/Human Resources
Consultant-Broadcasting, has been named Vice President/Human
Resources for Tribune Broadcasting Company.
"Myrna has done a terrific job directing
Tribune Broadcasting's human resources initiatives. Her efforts
were recognized publicly when she received Tribune Company's
Management and Values Award in 2000," said Luis Lewin,
Tribune Senior Vice President, Human Resources. "As Vice
President, she will continue to be responsible for all human
resources functions for the broadcasting group."
Ramirez has directed the broadcasting group's
human resources efforts since 1997. She is responsible for
establishing the strategic direction of human resources and
provides advice and counsel on employee relations, recruitment,
compensation, benefits and training.
Before she began working with Tribune Broadcasting,
Ramirez was director/human resources of WGN-TV, Chicago, from
1987 to 1996. Prior to joining Tribune, she held personnel
positions at Social & Educational Services and Ogilvy
& Mather Advertising.
Ramirez was born in Puerto Rico. She holds
a master's degree in human resources from National Lewis University
and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Rosary College.
She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management,
American Women in Radio and Television and the National Association
of Hispanic Journalists.
