
Tribune Interactive Names Joseph Gallagher
Director of Sales, Eastern Region
CHICAGO, July 17, 2001 -- Tribune
Interactive, Inc., a leader in interactive news and information
Web sites and a subsidiary of Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB),
today announced that online advertising executive Joseph G.
Gallagher has been named Director of Sales for Tribune Interactive's
Eastern region.
"Joe's strengths in online sales strategy
and sales program management will make him a valuable asset
to Tribune Interactive," said Dana Hayes, Vice President,
Sales and e-Commerce, Tribune Interactive. "His strong
relationships, knowledge in Internet advertising and his experience
in broadcast and print promotions will help attract leading
online advertisers."
Gallagher will be responsible for managing
all inside and outside sales activities that provide creative
online advertising solutions to marketers. His territory will
include sales efforts to advertisers based in northeastern
and eastern states from Maine south to Virginia and from New
York west to Ohio. He and his staff will leverage Tribune
Company's national scale and strong, local news brands to
bring dynamic online solutions to marketers.
Through its 11 daily newspaper Web sites and
its 22 TV station Web sites, Tribune Interactive offers a
wealth of online opportunities for reaching audiences. Some
of Tribune's strong local online brands include newsday.com,
chicagotribune.com and latimes.com, wb11.com (WPIX-TV, New

Gallagher joins Tribune Interactive from Real
Media, Inc., a global provider of marketing solutions to the
digital advertising industry, where he served as Director
of National Accounts and earlier as the Director of Sales,
for the company's Eastern region.
Prior to Real Media, Gallagher sold commercial
radio airtime; developed regional radio sports marketing promotions
for clients such as EchoStar and Allstate Insurance; and generated
revenues from radio airtime sales to vertical markets including
the medical, insurance, sporting goods and telecommunications
industries. Gallagher began his career at TravelMedia, where
he managed advertising sales for the in-flight magazine for
Hawaiian Airlines.
Gallagher is a graduate of Marquette University.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Law Studies.
