
Tribune Declares Quarterly Dividend
Appoints
new Vice President for Human Resources Service Center
CHICAGO, February 12, 2002 --
Tribune Company's board of directors declared
a regular quarterly dividend of $.11 per share on common stock
payable on Mar. 14, 2002, to stockholders of record at the
close of business on Feb. 28, 2002. The board made the declaration
at its regular meeting earlier today.
The board also elected Susan Mitchell as vice
president/human resources service center. Located at Tribune
headquarters in Chicago, the center consolidates the administration
of several important programs for the company's employees
across the country. Mitchell, 43, is responsible for the management
of the company's Labor and Employee Relations Department,
Benefits Service Center, Recruitment Resource Center and Conference
Center.
"Susan is the perfect fit to lead the
administration of these important employee-focused programs,"
said Luis Lewin, Tribune's senior vice president for human
resources. "Her talent and depth of experience enable
her to bring real leadership to these critical areas."
Prior to joining Tribune Company in October
2000, Mitchell worked for 20 years in the staffing industry,
where she was most recently regional vice president for ProStaff,
Inc. Before that, she was an officer and regional vice president
at Kelly Services.
