Tribune Company Names Bob Ramsey VP/General
Manager of KSWB-TV, San Diego
CHICAGO,
February 22, 2002 --
Tribune Company today named veteran broadcast executive Robert
J. (Bob) Ramsey as vice president/general manager of KSWB-TV
(WB5) in San Diego, California. Ramsey is currently station
manager at WGN-TV (WB9), Tribune's Chicago television station.
He will assume his new duties March 4, 2002.

a pleasure to announce Bob's appointment as the new General
Manager at KSWB-TV," said Pat Mullen, Tribune Television
president. "The station is a highly successful WB affiliate
with a very talented staff. Bob brings more than 20 years
of experience in news, programming, promotions, and station
management to the job. We're fortunate to have someone with
his talent, creativity, and leadership skills to help make
KSWB even stronger."
Ramsey
joined WGN in 1998 as director/programming and was promoted
to station manager in February 2000. From 1995 to 1998, he
served as director/programming and promotion at KDAF-TV, Dallas,
which was acquired by Tribune in 1997. Ramsey was program
and promotion manager of WBZL-TV, Miami, from 1992 to 1995,
and operations and program manager of WFLX-TV, West Palm Beach,
from 1988 to 1992.
Ramsey
began his broadcasting career as a sports anchor at WTHI-TV,
Terra Haute, Ind., in 1980. He subsequently worked for stations
in Jackson, Tenn., Omaha, Neb., and Louisville, Ky.
"KSWB

within the San Diego market," said Ramsey. "I am

look forward to the opportunities ahead."
A
native of Chicago, born February 15, 1957, Ramsey holds a
bachelor's degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois
University. He serves on the executive board of the Illinois
Broadcasters Association, the board of governors of the Chicago/Midwest
chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
(NATAS), and is a volunteer for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
