Tribune Television Restructures Senior
Management Team
CHICAGO, March 11, 2002 -- Tribune
Company (NYSE:TRB), today
announced a restructuring of the senior management team in
its television division, with several key executives assuming
new responsibilities. The changes were announced by Pat Mullen,
Tribune Television president, and are effective immediately.
Peter Walker, senior vice president/Tribune
Television, will now oversee the East Coast and Southern regions
of the company's station group, as well as WGN-TV, Chicago,
and WGN Superstation. The East Coast stations were previously
the responsibility of Michael Eigner, who announced his retirement
last week.
John Reardon will add responsibility for KWGN-TV,
Denver, to his duties overseeing the West Coast region of
Tribune Television.
Joe Young, vice president/general manager of
KDAF-TV, Dallas, has been promoted to regional vice president/Tribune
Television. He will continue as general manager of KDAF-TV,
in addition to overseeing WBZL-TV, Miami, KHWB-TV, Houston,
and WGNO-TV/WNOL-TV, New Orleans.
Steve Carver, vice president/general manager
WGN-AM Radio, Chicago, has been promoted to regional vice
president. In addition to WGN-AM Radio, he will oversee WXIN-TV,
Indianapolis, and WXMI-TV, Grand Rapids.

talent," said Mullen. "We are fortunate to have
people like Peter Walker and John Reardon, who have track
records of success and can take on additional responsibilities.
Equally important is our ability to elevate dedicated executives
like Joe Young and Steve Carver to key positions."
Walker joined Tribune in 1987 in sales management
at WGN. He became station manager of KTLA-TV, Los Angeles,
in 1989 and was named vice president/general manager of WGN
in 1992. He was appointed regional vice president of Tribune
Television in 1998.
In addition to KTLA-TV and KWGN-TV, Reardon
oversees KSWB-TV in San Diego and KCPQ-TV/KTWB-TV in Seattle.
He served as station manager of KTLA-TV from 1992 to 1996,
and in sales management at WGN starting in 1985.
Young joined Tribune in 1995 as vice president/general
manager of KDAF-TV. Young was vice president/general manager
of WXIN-TV, from 1985 to 1995.
Carver was named vice president/general manager
of WGN-AM, in March 1998. From September 1999 to December
2001, Carver served as vice president/radio group for Tribune
Broadcasting in addition to his current post at WGN-AM.
