Tribune Interactive Names Jason Revzon
Executive Producer, Broadcast Division
CHICAGO, March 13, 2002 -- Tribune
Interactive, Inc., a leader in interactive news and information
Web sites and a subsidiary of Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB),
today named Jason Revzon Executive Producer of its broadcast
division which manages Tribune's 23 television station and
two cable channel Web sites.
"Jason's talents as a Web producer and
his experience in building station Web sites makes him a natural
choice to lead our broadcasting team," says Michael A.
Silver, vice president/strategy and development for Tribune
Interactive. "His understanding of our stations' promotional
needs, his eye for lively Web content and his understanding
of the key elements that drive Tribune's online business will
help make our network of sites an even more important element
of Tribune Interactive's Web strategy."
Revzon is responsible for managing the content
development, site operations and network programming of Tribune's
23 television station and two cable channel Web sites. The
network affiliations of those sites include 16 WB stations,
six FOX stations, one ABC station and cable channel sites
include WGNcable.com and CLTV.com. In this role, Revzon works
closely with the Tribune Interactive technology team to help
implement a proprietary, standards-based content management
and publishing platform, internally known as Oxygen. The platform
will provide the Web sites with stronger interactive tools
that support consumer polls, graffiti boards, e-mail forms
and quizzes. It will also provide greater access to content
from Tribune Interactive's newspaper and specialty Web sites.
Implementation of the new platform will be completed in April
2002.
"I look forward to working with our amazing
broadcast and cable site producers to continue toward our
goal of creating powerful online vehicles for our strong on-air
brands," says Revzon. "Our newly enhanced sites
will inform, entertain and interact with our broadcast audience
in exciting ways. "
Revzon joined Tribune in April 1999 as a Web
producer with WLVI-TV in Boston and managed its site, WB56.com,
as well as WB45.com for WEWB-TV in Albany, New York. In December
2000, Revzon was promoted to senior producer and relocated
to Tribune's headquarters in Chicago to support Web operations
for its television station and cable channel sites.
Revzon began his online career as a night and
weekend editor for Digital City Boston, a news and information
source for early AOL users. In this role, he worked with several
columnists and local channel experts who provided content
to Digital City Boston. Through a partnership with the Boston
Herald, Revzon also managed the "Boston Soap Box"
a special section of Digital City Boston that provided message
boards, chats and community building with AOL users and Boston
Herald readers.
