Tribune Publishing Names Kenneth Harding
Vice of Operations and Distribution
CHICAGO, March 17, 2003 --
Tribune Publishing today announced the appointment of Kenneth
Harding, veteran newspaper operations consultant and architect,
as vice president of operations and distribution. In his new
role, Harding will coordinate companywide operations, printing
and distribution activities and capital projects for Tribune’s
12 daily newspapers including the Los Angeles Times,
Chicago Tribune, and Newsday.
Harding joins Tribune from McClier Corporation,
where he served as executive vice president since 2001, with
responsibility for the firm’s newspaper/media strategic
business unit, McClier Consulting and the firm’s Denver/Phoenix
regional offices. At McClier, Harding assisted several Tribune
newspapers with a variety of projects including strategic
planning, feasibility studies, process analysis and project
implementation, including recently completed projects for
the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune.
"Tribune newspapers have worked closely
with Ken for many years," said Jack Fuller, Tribune Publishing
president. "He comes to the job with a wealth of knowledge
and experience both of the industry in general and of us."
Harding will report to Fuller and will assume his new duties
on May 19.

efficiency in the newspaper industry," said Harding.

From 1988 to 2001, Harding founded and led designALLIANCE,
a consulting firm specializing in newspaper operations, interior
design and architecture. Before that, he was an executive
vice president at Peter Lendrum Associates in Phoenix from
1983 to 1988 where he started and managed Lendrum’s
newspaper group. He began his career at BJSS Architects in
1974 in Olympia, Wash., and was principal when he left the
firm in 1988.
Born January 15, 1951, Harding is a native
of eastern Washington. He holds two bachelor’s degrees,
in science and architecture, from Washington State University.
