Tribune Names Vincent Giannini VP/General
Manager of WPHL-TV, Philadelphia
CHICAGO, November 10, 2003
-- Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB)
today named veteran broadcast executive Vincent Giannini
as vice president/general manager of WPHL-TV (WB17), in Philadelphia
. He was previously station manager of WPIX-TV (WB11) in
New York. He will assume his new duties immediately.
"Vince is a strong leader with a successful
track record," said
Patrick Mullen, Tribune Broadcasting president. "He brings
years of successful management experience, including a strong
background in finance, operations and community involvement,
which makes him the perfect fit for WPHL."
As station manager at WPIX, Giannini's responsibilities
included finance, engineering, community affairs and local
production. Before moving to New York in 2001, he was director/finance
and administration for KTLA-TV, Los Angeles. His responsibilities
there included managing a building renovation and expansion,
overseeing the operating and strategic planning process and
negotiating contracts. Giannini was senior financial analyst
for WGN-TV, Chicago, from 1990-1993. He started his career
with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

WPHL has consistently ranked among the top WB affiliates
in the country," said

A native of Chicago, Giannini holds a bachelor's degree
in accounting from the University of Illinois and is a certified
public accountant. He was instrumental in establishing the
FARA (Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance) 5K Walk for
Hope and Care in Los Angeles.
