Appoints Two Broadcast Veterans to New Posts
Gina Mazzaferri Elevated to Vice President/Strategy
and Administration
John Poelking Promoted to Vice President/Finance
CHICAGO, March
11, 2004 -- Tribune Broadcasting,
a division of Tribune Company (NYSE:TRB), today announced
the promotion of two broadcast veterans to new posts with
expanded duties. Gina Mazzaferri becomes vice president/strategy
and administration; John Poelking becomes vice president/finance.
The appointments are effective immediately.

Patrick Mullen, president of Tribune Broadcasting. "Collectively,
they have more than 30 years of experience with the company.
They are talented, dedicated and forward-thinking, and will
help lead our broadcasting group to continued growth in the
years ahead."
In her new position, Mazzaferri assumes
responsibility for the broadcasting group’s strategic planning and business
development activities, as well as news and broadcast operations.
Cissy Baker, vice president/news and bureau chief of Tribune
Television’s Washington News Bureau, Tonina Grisanti,
director/broadcast operations, and Debbie Cline, director/development,
will now report directly to Mazzaferri.

well as getting more involved in broadcast operations," said
Mazzaferri. "Cissy,
Tonina, and Debbie have established a solid record of success
and I am excited by the opportunity to work more closely
with them."
Mazzaferri has been director/strategy and development for
Tribune Broadcasting since February 1999. A native of Cleveland,
she joined the company in 1996 and served as controller and
director/finance for Tribune Broadcasting.
In his new position as vice president/finance,
Poelking is responsible for all of Tribune Broadcasting’s financial
activities including long-range planning, budgeting and monitoring
the division’s equity investments.

responsibilities and to be taking on a more integral role
within Tribune Broadcasting’s
management team," said Poelking.
Poelking has been vice president/controller for Tribune
Broadcasting since January 2001. Prior to that, he served
as director/finance and administration at WGN-TV (WB9), Chicago.
A native of Cleveland, Poelking joined Tribune Company in
1980.
