President of Tribune Media Net
Dana Hayes Named
Tribune Media Net Senior Vice President/Sales & Marketing
CHICAGO,
June 2, 2005 -- Tribune
Publishing today announced that Ken DePaola has been
named president of Tribune Media Net, the company’s national sales
organization. DePaola will oversee national advertising
for Tribune’s 11
newspapers and niche publications, and lead cross-media
sales efforts. He will continue to serve as senior
vice president/advertising for Chicago Tribune Company,
a position he was appointed to in March 2004.
"Ken’s deep understanding of advertisers’ needs
and outstanding sales leadership make him well-suited for
this key position," said Scott Smith, Tribune Publishing
president.
DePaola joined Chicago Tribune in October 2001 as vice president/advertising
marketing and sales. Before that, DePaola served as associate
publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, was president and publisher
of Midwest Suburban Publishing, and held various sales and
marketing positions with the Sun-Times.
"I’m honored to be given this opportunity and
look forward to driving advertiser results through our publishing
businesses," DePaola said. "Tribune brings a
unique combination of major market brands; attractive, new
niche products; and a network of dynamic news and information
websites that provide advertisers creative options in reaching
diverse audiences."
Also at Tribune Media Net, Dana Hayes
has been named senior vice president/sales and marketing,
and will continue to direct national advertiser sales across
TMN’s eight
sales offices and oversee marketing efforts. Hayes was appointed
vice president/sales in October 2001. Prior to that, he was
vice president/sales and e-commerce for Tribune Interactive.
Before joining Tribune, he held a variety of sales management
positions for Turner Networks, TBS and TNT, and at Landmark
Networks’ The Weather Channel and The Travel Channel.
He began his career as a media buyer and planner at Leo Burnett
Company.
